If you can only go to one con, why it should be Steamfest.

With the market in SLC being so over-saturated with conventions this year many may find themselves in the position of having to pick which cons they will have to sit out. Here are some reasons why we recommend choosing Steamfest above the rest if you are not fortunate enough to have the time and money to go to all the cons.

1. Avoid the long lines and panic attacks with a smaller and more intimate crowd.

2. Steamfest is designed to be a more interactive experience, so you can expect that others will engage with you trying to get you to participate in random games and events. As opposed to being a passive observer in a sea of stuff you can't afford after already throwing down $100+ just to get in for the weekend.

3. A more interactive crowd means you are also more likely to meet awesome people and build lasting friendships.

4. Steamfest is a truly all ages event, meaning that while there is plenty of family friendly fun to be had there will also be plenty of adults only shenanigans that you will not find at other cons.

5. The venue actually has a parking lot, so you might not have to pay for parking or walk 8 miles if you get there early enough.

6. Want to talk to the big shots that are running the show? Well you won't have to throw yourself in front of their solid gold Rolls Royce to get their attention. They will be amongst all of the guests readily accessible in case you feel the urgent need to complain about the lack of free pastries.

7. You most likely won't have to pay $80 extra for a crappy photo with the special guests. They will likely be up and about participating in shenanigans as well when they are not putting on panels and such.

8. The attendees at this event tend to put much more time and effort into their costumes than what would be considered healthy. So if you are going just for the costumes this is the event to go to. Or you could see a few awesome costumes here and there amongst a giant sea of store bought Deadpool and Dr. Who costumes.

9. Dollar for dollar it is cheaper than the other cons. Take a look at the price of their VIP packages vs the competition.

10. Motherf@!ckin' NERF WAR!
